Key Issues

Identity has spent over a decade working hands-on with Latino youth. We have also conducted numerous advocacy and research efforts on behalf of the Latino community. Through this we have gained greater knowledge and insight into the needs of the Latino community in Montgomery County. These efforts have resulted in important benefits to the Latino community.

The following key issues are the focus of Identity’s on-going efforts to advocate for policies in Montgomery County that most benefit the Latino youth and community.

That each child has a full range of opportunities available within the public school system to grow and develop to his or her fullest potential.
That children and families have access to all needed health and social services in order to maintain good health and mental well-being.
That the civil rights of Latinos are respected by law enforcement.
That key public and private entities are informed on how best to provide culturally competent and accessible services to the Latino community.
