Reading With Identity

Young readers with Identity’s Jóvenes de Mañana stay connected with Identity and stay focused on their language arts progress, reading kid-friendly articles and discussing them with program facilitator Imara Guerrero.

We have moved Identity’s services to virtual platforms as experts predict learning and social-emotional gaps will widen the longer schools are closed. For instance, we are not only running virtual reading groups but also running virtual Census parties,  ESOL classes, GED classes in English and Spanish (the whiteboards are great) and of course, individual and small group therapy by phone or video. We are working with all available partners and resources to make sure Identity youth have the computers and internet they need to thrive in the virtual classroom and to help their families access food and other emergency supports.

We continue to be inspired by the resilience of young people and their families.
