Music, fabulous food, new toys and Santa (aka County Councilmember Gabe Albornoz) entertained over 300 children and their families in Germantown, thanks to a special County-Community Partnership that hosted a Magical Christmas Evening at Plum Gar Recreation Center near the Middlebrook Manor Mobile Home Park, where many of Identity’s middle school and elementary school families live.

The evening featured dinner and a live performance of traditional Latino holiday songs before Santa arrived to help each child pick out a toy. Each family went home with a gift bag of warm clothes. Some of our most vulnerable neighbors live in this area of the County.

The holiday party was sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Latino Health Initiative, the Street Outreach Network, the County Executive’s Latino Community Liaison and community partners Identity, Mary’s Center, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, and Black Rock Center for the Arts, with food and refreshments provided by the Rotary Club of Gaithersburg and Honest Tea.

Such a beautiful community moment! It honestly feels like a scene from a warm holiday movie, families coming together, music, laughter, and pure joy. Perfect vibes for a cozy movie night on FreeCine!
