Back to School Backpack Supply Drive & Assembly
Returning to school next fall will be challenging for many students. It is especially difficult for students whose families have lost work or live with increased fear and anxiety and whose connection to school is insecure or fragile. One small but impactful way we can increase the likelihood of academic success and support their school connectedness is to provide them with the supplies they will need on day one and an in-person “welcome” from caring adults.
Our goal is to fill at least 500 backpacks with age-appropriate supplies and personal notes of encouragement for students enrolled in elementary, middle and high school, or in GED and workforce training programs. Backpacks will be distributed at 20+ schools where Identity provides programs and services.
